"Dark Changes" is a song recorded by English-Irish boy band One Management. It was written by the band alongside Jamie Scott, Julian Bunetta and John Ryan, while the production was handled by Bunetta and Ryan. The vocal was released on 14 November 2014 as the second and terminal unmarried from their quaternary studio album Four. A moderate commercial success, the track is 1 of the band's most critically acclaimed, receiving praise for contemplating the fleeting nature of life with depth and maturity.

Groundwork and release [edit]

"Night Changes" was revealed equally the anthology's second unmarried in an interview with radio host Scott Mills.[two] The track was released on 14 Nov 2014, three days before the album's release.[3]

Composition and lyrics [edit]

Developing on the themes of "Live While We're Young" and "Story of My Life", the song explores the rapid passage of time, seizing the moment in life, and gaining beloved along the way. The harmonies in the chorus, backed past rounds of "Oohs", give the song added depth and a "big contemplative feel."[4] The song runs for 3 minutes and 47 seconds and begins in the key of A♭ major. 2 minutes and 28 seconds into the song, the key changes to B♭ major.

Music video [edit]

The official music video was released on 21 November 2014 and directed by Ben Winston.[5] This was the last video of One Direction with the member Zayn as he departed from the ring on 25 March 2015. Liam Payne's existent-life girlfriend Sophia Smith was involved in the shoot, just did non appear on-screen.[half-dozen]

The video is a indicate of view of going on a date with all members of Ane Direction. The five dates take place in five unlike locations: a date with Zayn at an Italian eatery (which apparently he owns every bit he greets cooks in the back and introduces his date to a waiter), a drive in the country with Louis, a night in playing Monopoly and Jenga next to a fireplace with Niall, ice skating with Harry and at a carnival with Liam.[vii]

Every bit their date progresses, it goes from best to worst. Zayn's date'south ex-swain comes in and pours water and nutrient on Zayn, which prompts her to leave Zayn every bit he looks on in atheism.[8] Next, Harry spots a couple doing a play a joke on on the ice rink and attempts to do information technology with his date, just both wound up being injured. Liam and his appointment go on a ride in the carnival, just Liam becomes nauseated and throws upwardly in his date's hat. Niall tends to his fireplace, just his sweater catches on fire and goes to grab a towel to put information technology out, just to tip over a jug that stains his date'southward dress. Lastly, Louis gets pulled over by the police force and attempts to joke with the policeman, who becomes displeased and places Louis under arrest, and the appointment sees Louis in the back of the police car heading abroad from her.[7] [nine]
